CO-HOUSING
A New Vision
It's 2025 and we are putting forward a new vision for the Farm. We aim to create a Low Impact - Low Cost co-housing trust that will allow us to reorganise the ownership model and to create somewhere where a group of green-minded people can live and continue the organic journey in the lee of the Black Mountains:
Affordable Living
We are applying to get permission to create permanent accomodation for the new owner-workers . We plan to turn the disused barn into a 2-bed barn conversion.
The Welsh Longhouse will be adapted to create three flats and a self-build annex...and yes...of course...we will be staying on and will be part of the new community!
Green Enterprise
Primrose Farm will provide space and opportunities for the new owner-workers to develop small-scale social and community enterprises that would support and enhance what Primrose already provides to the local community.
What is Co-housing?
Co-housing in similiar to a Housing Co-op. Co-housing is a community-based living arrangement where people share space and responsibilities. It's also known as co-operative housing, collaborative living, or intentional communities.
How will cohousing work at Primrose?
Primrose Farm members will live in their own homes but will share facilities like a laundry and will share costs like water and electricity bills.
Benefits of cohousing
Co-housing creates a sense of community and social responsibility. Primrose Farm will provide affordable housing in an area known for its high rents and house prices.
